Description

As children, we sometimes got trail mix when we were tired or hungry while hiking. In German it is called "student's food". I had previously wondered about this term because I imagined that students would only eat this mix of dried sultanas and nuts. I then imagined that this would perhaps make them particularly smart or that the students had such a special task that required them to eat mainly sultanas and nuts. Later I thought: maybe the students are just so poor that they can't afford anything else. I became more confused when I learnt much later that there are also student slices: the very sweet chocolate biscuits that are sold in the shape of crème slices. That, in turn, I found very rich. The diet of students is still a mystery to me today. So the conclusion for me: names do not always express the essence of what is being named.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
