Description

In our language we use the subjunctive tense, which expresses a possibility but not the reality. When we are convinced of something and plan to implement it concretely, we use the future tense. But when there is uncertainty or doubt, we use the subjunctive. This includes verbs like 'would' or 'could'. The subjunctive thus speaks of possibilities, chances, opportunities, risks and dangers - but always under the premise that things can - or could - turn out differently. For me, this is also an expression of the fact that we have longings and do not live in the perfect world for which we were actually created and which we ultimately seek. I would even go so far (by the way: also a subjunctive...) as to claim that the subjunctive did not yet exist in paradise but only came with the so-called fall of man, when man was driven out of his perfect environment through his own fault.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
