Description

Are you happy with your surname? I've had different experiences with mine. The name Stark - which is German for 'strong' - is self-explanatory. As a boy, I was repeatedly challenged at school and provoked by older boys by asking me questions and physically attacking me with "show me if you're really strong!". That was mean and humiliating and unpleasant for me. I am now proud to bear this name. Not so much because I have the impression that I am physically extremely strong, but rather because it has become an essential part of my identity, because I have also experienced a lot with it. I imagine that in the past, the surname was just as important for identity - often through the professional activity that was still valid for a lifetime back then. Identity is important, it gives you stability - both for yourself and your environment. And it is a gift. It makes me unique and that alone is a miracle. Maybe you'll remember that the next time you sign your name.

I wish you an extraordinary day!
