The writer of the letter of James in the New Testament writes in a passage about the tongue. He says: with it we bless and with it we curse. He also compares it to a small rudder of a big ship: this small part is able to steer the whole, big ship and determine the direction of travel. In fact, it is often not easy for us to keep our tongue - as they say - in check. In other words, to lead in the same way as one leads a horse with the help of the bridle. But why is this so? I would argue that the tongue is not only controlled by our will and intellect, but much more by our self-image. If we are in harmony with ourselves, we are more satisfied and our tongue is blessed. If this is not the case - then we all know what we are capable of. Unfortunately. A good reason not to fight symptoms but causes. So: to see and accept ourselves as unique creatures loved by God.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
