Blinds are fitted to windows to protect them from bright light. There are different types: for example, slat blinds, which, depending on how far they are lowered, have small gaps between the light-tight slats, allowing some light to pass through until they are completely closed. Or there are fabric blinds, which are continuous and have no slats, but are often translucent at the edges or made of a fabric that is not completely light-tight, so that some light remains in the room behind them. Blinds are used to deliberately block out light and create darkness. There are times in life when we need to withdraw inwardly for protection or retreat. The danger here is to stay in the dark and then see no more light, no more hope. The metaphor of the blinds may help: Protection and retreat are allowed and, depending on the approach, some light and hope can always get through.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
