I recently read up on the subject of hair and found the following information:
Each hair consists of a hair shaft and a hair root. The shaft is the visible part of the hair, the hair root is in the skin. It is encased in the hair follicle, to which a small muscle is attached that can raise the hair. Many nerve fibres also end at the hair follicle. This enables us to perceive hair movements. At the lower end, the hair root is spherically thickened. It is called the hair bulb. New cells are constantly being formed in the hair bulb, which stick together and become keratinised. The entire hair is made up of this horny strand. Because new keratinised cells are constantly adhering to the hair from below, it gradually pushes itself out of the skin. In this way, the hair grows about 1cm per month. I was overwhelmed by this information. A muscle on every hair. King David was right when he thanked God that he was wonderfully made. You can read about it in Psalm 139.
I wish you an extraordinary day!
