Description

I was wondering why in German the pedestrian crossings are called "zebra crossings". On the one hand, because I don't know any yellow zebras and, on the other hand, because a zebra has absolutely no regular stripes on its coat like a zebra stripe. In my opinion, a bee or a wasp would be a more suitable example - here, first of all, yellow is present and the rings around the body are as regular as in the case of the pedestrian aid. It's kind of interesting that such a term has nevertheless become commonplace and, as far as I can tell, is not questioned. Habits. Or imprinting. You grow up with it, don't question it, take note of it, orient yourself to it and live accordingly. In the case of the zebra crossing, of course, it is not really blatant or drastic. But if we are honest, we probably all have things somewhere in our lives or lifestyles that we could or should question and perhaps change. How does that look for you?

I wish you an extraordinary day!
