Welcome, and thank you for joining us for the first episode of The Controversy. A new podcast here at Maricopa High School. In today's episode, we delve deep into the question of, are student council elections actually just that, elections? Or are they really just popularity contests? Which at the end of the day, when a student looks at the ballot, they choose the name they best recognize. We hope to answer this question, as we believe there is a key component to elections that are often left out here at the high school level. Join us and our guest speaker, now secretary of the student council, Jo Anne, as we attempt to solve this problem. As well as bring you the viewer, a new perspective on the matter.
