Jeanie and Carmen interview Catherine Baab-Muguira, author of Poe for Your Problems: Uncommon Advice from History's Least Likely Self-Help Guru.
Catherine grew up in South Carolina and Richmond, Virginia, a middle child in a big Catholic family. She majored in English at the University of South Carolina, and did an M.A. in Creative Writing at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. As a freelance journalist, she contributed to the Wall Street Journal, Slate, CNBC and NBC News, Lit Hub, Electric Lit, and many others. Poe for Your Problems is her first book.
Poe for Your Problems: Uncommon Advice from History's Least Likely Self-Help Guru, came out from Hachette in 2021. In 2022, it was a finalist for the Library of Virginia's People's Choice Award, and won the International Poe Festival's Saturday "Visiter" Award.
