I've been an avid videogamer for a long time. I've even dabbled in content creation on other platforms, but this is my first ever podcast. My goal is create an ongoing review/longform podcasting series where I talk about Japanese games I've played, and why I think they stand the test of time. The aim is to reflect on them with an analytical approach. Analytical, yet positive.
The first step was picking a game that both broke the mold, and yet set the tone for a massive franchise going forward. While archaic in design, the impact Final Fantasy 1 for the Nintendo Entertainment System had is immeasurable. This podcast is my attempt to runthrough its strengths, its weaknesses, and show appreciation for what it done for me and for many others.
This is just a beginning. I have many other RPGs and non-RPG Japanese titles in the pipeline. I may even invite friends as guests to provide another angle on games in question, or in some cases, expertise. But I can't do that unless I get episode 1 down. So here we go.
