THE WORKS OF GOD
Acts 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
1. SOME SCRIPTURES ON THE WORKS OF GOD
a) Psalms 111, 40:5, Job 37:14-24, Dan 9:14, Luke 19:37-38, Rom 11:26, Eph 2:10, Rev 15:3.
2. HIS CREATION WORK – Gen 2:1-3
a) Creation was a work of God – Gen 1, Psalm 19:1, 139:14.
b) The Lord rested after his work – Gen 2:1-3.
c) An example for the nation of Israel – Heb 4:9-11
3. HIS COVENENTAL WORK
a) His work to bring Israel out of bondage – Exo 14:30-31
b) The giving of the law was the work of God – Exo 32:16, 31:18.
c) His miraculous works – Exo 34:10, Psalm 77:11-14, Joshua 24:31, Judges 2:7, Psalm 107.
4. HIS PROPHESIED WORK
a) Jesus came to confirm the promises to Israel - Romans 15:8, Luke2:49, John 4:34.
b) He fulfilled the prophets – John 17:4, 19:30, Luke 24:44.
5. HIS “MYSTERY’ CROSS WORK
a) His death and resurrection had a greater purpose – 1Cor 2:7-8…. 1:17-18, Gal 6:14.
b) We preach His cross work for salvation – Rom 4:24-24, 1Cor 15:1-4.
c) We have peace “by the cross” – Eph 2:12-17, Col 1:20-22, 2:9-15.
6. HIS KINGDOM WORK
a) This was prophesied – Exo 19:5-6, Exo 37:21-28, Micah 4:1-8.
b) John, Jesus, and the 12 preached this was at hand – Matt 3:1-2, 4:17, Act 1:6-8, 3:12-21
c) Peter explains the fulfilling of this was put on hold – 2Pet 1:16-21, 3:8-18.
d) Fulfilled after this dispensation of grace – 1Pet 1:3-11, Rev 19-20.
7. HIS COMPLETED WORK
a) Dispensation of the fulness of time - Eph 1:9-11, Rev 21-22.
