Purpose by Design welcomes our amazing and talented guest: Dr. Shervondaline Breedlove, she is so encouraging and breathes life in today’s podcast. She is originally from Monroe, Louisiana and currently lives in Texas with husband and daughter.
This incredible guest is a speaker, author, and a mentor in the special-needs community. Dr. Shervondaline shares that her daughter has autism - and is using her platform to help others dealing with special needs. Our lovely guest encourages them and inspires them uplift them because she knows what it is like to be on the journey as it can feel alone.
She and her husband brought their daughter to a doctor's appointment that ended her up in the hospital. She shares that they need to keep their emotions in check as dealing with a family member with autism takes a lot and is a constant journey. Their doctor said that their daughter may never be able to walk, talk, or live a normal life after a surgery took place. This led her and her husband to lean on God to carry them and give them strength in this time.
They spoke over their daughter and into her legs that she will speak, walk and so forth. She told the body that it will work and God has been showing up. As of now, her daughter and her have their doctorates together and what was meant for destruction is now being used for good and paid forward to help others. She now owns her non-profit where she is leaving a footprint to help so many people, giving them hope and direction.
Shervondaline gives wisdom to parents who are where she was - giving tidbits on how to speak things into existence as if they were. She talks about her struggle to keep her mindset and stay positive and how she could think differently from where her thoughts were headed before leaning on the Lord.
