Purpose by Design welcomes Selina Bornes: a mindset strategist. She helps women change their mindset, confidence, business, and lifestyle 180-degrees. Why 180-degrees? When you take a 180-turn, you end up in the opposite direction of where you are right now.
She talks about when she was married and in an abusive relationship and learned in 2016 that she was responsible for the energy in the house, and that she had a voice that was being pushed down. Her daughter ran away and that changed everything, her assertive side came out then and that is when she realized things could and should be different. She hired a coach then, wound up writing her first book: All That Glitters: From Selfishness and Despair to Restoration, a book to women about how to get out of your comfort zone, and learn to take a 180 from where you are at. She explains that taking a 180 is simply polishing your mirror to make it clear.
Her pastor taught her to live with commas behind our titles, not periods. Your title doesn’t end with your title, but may have continuation and extension - do not limit yourselves. She told her daughters that they sit and acknowledge themselves in the mirror is how they think of themselves. She encouraged them to improve the image of themselves in their mindsets and their subconscious will catch up.
Selina explains how many people walk around in life ignorant that they are perfect or nothing is wrong with them, as they are in denial. It takes realizing the problem first to fix the problem, which she says is so much fun to witness various clients / women work through their humps to get to their 180-degree point.
Journaling is an important step in women’s progress. Selina journaled to get everything out, as it was therapeutic. She will have her clients journal about the deep-rooted issues of fears to procrastinate. There is something else deep inside that people don’t acknowledge that Selina helps her clients get to the bottom of.
