Purpose by Design welcomes Vanessa Simmons, first and foremost a child of the Most-High Jesus Christ. Following that, she is a motivational coach, wife of 15 years to her husband, mother of 3 kids, collaborative author of ``Women of the Power Voice”, speaker and mentor to hundreds of women. She is a motivator for all women alike to bring out their power voice inside of them, helping them see themselves like God sees them. She speaks about mental health and how it is necessary to SPEAK to someone about it, and get help. Vanessa goes into detail about how in 2007 her life hit rock bottom. She was having a baby, she was starting a business and she could not control herself, nor did she know how to deal with her issues. She was living a life of depression, how lack of sleep pushed her over the edge to the point she needed to be hospitalized. She goes into depth about how one of the times she was at the hospital, she explains how though her eyes were open, she only saw black. There was nothing she could see but pitch-black. She knew she was in a body-bag. When a man unzipped the bag, saw she was alive he took Vanessa where she needed to go. Next thing - Vanessa woke up in a hospital bed. She believes that the man who unzipped the body bag was an encounter with an angel - something she will never forget. She talks about the importance of immersing yourself in Scripture, and talking to God about everything in your life. Vanessa shares how she always aspired to be a speaker, and at a pivotal point in her life, it all came to the surface and she realized she needed to take action once she came across Mr. Les Brown, the one and only. Vanessa shares how it was hard to get her story out for a while based on her own perception of herself, and how paradigm shifts MATTER. Let God take your story, and touch people’s lives.
