Purpose by Design welcomes my dear friend, Lori Paul who dons many titles: she is a mother, grandmother, writer, author, speaker, ministry leader and more.
Lori grew up believing success was growing up, getting married and having children. Her mother reminded her that she can do anything she wanted, which in her heart: was to be a pastor which was not a thing for females being pastors back then.
A little later in time Lori went through a very serious traumatic experience: she was set up by a pimp and got into some trouble - and led her to have identity issues. Lori decided to bury that traumatic experience deep down and not tell a soul: including her soon-to-be future husband who she never told as she wanted to forget it. Ms. Paul said she wanted to forget her last name and change her identity as fast as possible.
Later in life, God led Lori to a meeting that focused on trauma specific to what she went through - and she realized it was not her fault…the hurt, the guilt, the shame fell off of Lori. The Lord has a way of taking past situations that were hard and use them for his glory. Lori was asked to help promote a sex-trafficking bill and was asked to speak on how to spot it. She touches on how pornography starts young and can be targeted at our kids, and how she furthered her ministry. Lori also teaches that we need to nurture our BOYS just as much as we nurture our girls and give them equal love.
Lori is focused on helping people through her ministry visiting women at jails to listen, and help in any way she can in directing their future. She is staying busy writing her future book as well so keep an eye out for that in 2022. Lori touches on how important being present, listening to someone who has gone through something is critical, and how little moments of support can change everything for someone. People of passion are a powerful entity that can help change this world.
