I'm so excited for y'all to hear this one. I am joined once again by noted author, columnist and returning friend of the podcast, Jonathan Alter. I last spoke to Jon about his book — my favorite book on FDR and the New Deal — "The Defining Moment: FDR's Hundred Days and the Triumph of Hope". In that book, Jon writes a great chapter on the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC); today, we discuss the CCC, their importance in the New Deal, and how what they did can inspire us today to accomplish great things.
