Join Dr. Melissa Currie, a pediatric forensics expert at the University of Louisville, and Kosair for Kids Endowed Chair in Pediatric Forensic Medicine occupant, as she tells the story of the creation of this unit 17 years ago and the impact it has had on educating the community and all who interact with children to recognize and report child abuse before a death occurs. Her program has trained pediatricians who are interested in becoming forensics experts and has trained Kentucky’s pediatricians and family physicians to be better equipped to recognize early signs of abuse and neglect.
