Good to be back! I know it’s been a while, but sometimes you need to take a break for various reasons, and trust me, I have have my own.
Yesterday, I stepped outside, removed my shoes and socks, and placed my feet on the ground. It’s a wonderful sensation and quite humbling as it reminds me of my origins, formed from the earth and thus connected to it. As I sat down and surveyed my surroundings, I was filled with awe, gazing at the sun that warms my body, feeling the earth beneath my feet, and absorbing all the life around me because everything is interconnected, all that He has created for me to enjoy and recognize as I express my gratitude in humble reverence and worship at my altar to the God who made all of this! Psalm 5:3 captures it perfectly: “At each and every sunrise you will hear my voice as I prepare my sacrifice of prayer to you. Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar and wait for your fire to fall upon my heart”!
