Glacial Lakes Distillery was started by 3 guys from Watertown, SD who have a passion for creating high quality spirits. They were inspired by a simpler time when quality meant something and beautiful hand made wooden boats raced across the Great Lakes and glacial lakes of the Upper Midwest.
Just as the craftsmen who built those beautiful boats, the guys at Glacial Lakes Distillery are committed to creating a high quality, hand-crafted spirit that will leave you nodding in approval. Glacial Lakes Distillery started with vodka. Their vodka starts with quality ingredients. Wheat, grown locally and pure clean water from the Glacial Lakes Region. It’s then distilled in small batches, one mason jar at a time. By hand-crafting their vodka they make sure they get the best cut of the run, which means that only the best of each batch goes into their bottles. It’s pure grain to glass!
Some brands feel the need to tell you how many times they’ve distilled and filtered their vodkas and how it enhances the quality of the spirit. GL’s product proves that if you start with quality ingredients, you don’t need to distill and filter multiple times to get a quality product.
They sent a bottle from Batch #1 to a national competition and were pleasantly surprised with a bronze medal. At a recent craft spirits celebration in Minnesota, Glacial Lakes Vodka was chosen from a field of distilleries from Minnesota to Kentucky and given the Peoples Choice Award Second Runner-Up. The awards are nice; however their biggest reward comes when someone tries their vodka for the first time and says, “Wow, that’s good!” They promise a smooth vodka that mixes with any cocktail and is even better straight up.
