No man is an Island. Ever heard that saying? If you listen to the Podcast, you probably heard Amy D saying it at some point, and for good reasons. The saying comes from 17th Century Poet John Donne, who argued with his words that (pardon the shortcut) everyone needs connection in some way, whether we like it or not. We have relationships whether we like it or not, starting with ourselves. And often we find that humanity and the people in it struggle with them more than they should or could... Do you feel like yours are not meaningful, fulfilling or maybe even just stable and predictable in a good way? We can relate, and we figure out through our experiences why it is so and where we are potentially missing golden opportunities.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Facts matter for sure, but equally or even more importantly, we want to put all options on the table and relate openly about what we may have missed as a result of our unescapable biases and other horse blinders. This is a place where we revisit what we thought we understood or knew, in order to spark new growth.
