"I'm just a modern (woman/man) trying to have it all..." Is this something that would describe you or anyone you know? The movie this comes from may not be so familiar to you unless you’re a Gen Xer as the movie was released in ‘98. In it, you could hear fictional character Morticia Addams explaining the struggles of a modern woman trying to juggle her many roles and lacking time for her macabre penchant towards dark forces and hellish crusades. Of course, Morticia’s hobbies are part of the satirical tone of the comedy movie Addams Family Values, but the point is to introduce the idea that in a life without Values, it is easy to get buried in the daily chores and to forget who we really are and what we really stand for. These values are so important, and yet we often don’t really know what they are for us individually. Understanding them and finding what they are to live a more intentional life is what we discuss today in the first episode of a 2 parts topic on our true Values. Enjoy.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck.
