Darryl Downey promoted Ireland’s first major Country Festival, the Midlands Music Festival, for 2 years, at Ballinlough Castle and Belvedere House, which featured artists Kris Kristofferson, Van Morrison, Glen Campbell, Dwight Yoakam, Kenny Rogers, Gillian Welch, Emmylou Harris, Nanci Griffith, Christy Moore, Steve Earle, etc. A total of 32 artists performed each year across 3 stages.
