Description

"Be sober; watch. Your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8). Daniel 6 completes the first half of this book. It is fitting that these stories end in the lions den. Darius already had insight as to the character of Daniel because this is what he said when he realized he had to obey the law and allow him to be cast into the lions den, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you." (Daniel 6:16) . He recognized Daniel as such a one who had uninterrupted fellowship with God. He saw Daniel unequivocably as an Overcomer for the Lord’s economy, The first six chapters are certainly more than enjoyable Sunday school stories. They reveal the ongoing attack of Satan against God’s purpose being carried out on the earth. The stories culminate with Daniel, old and weathered, but still overcoming and facing the lions. These stories have built a case for believers to overcome in whatever age they live. The enemy is the same, the objective of God is unaltered with guaranteed achievement, but the unknown factor is whether or not we will overcome with the Lord.
