Romans 8:28 says “we know that all things work together for good”. What is the good? Compare this to Ephesians chapter 1:4-5. The good is the good pleasure of God determined before the foundation of the world. In Genesis chapter 1 during creation, at the end of each day God said “and it was good”. Yet according to these verses in Ephesians his first declaration of good was before creation. The triune God determined to place us in the Son. That’s why each day of creation is good because creation is predicated on the eternal good pleasure of God before the foundation of the world. And to think that we can have daily participation in that is amazing!
