"…Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone; In whom all the building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit." (Ephesians 2:20-22). The goal of Christ is to build his church. In John chapter 14 we see that Christ is going to prepare a place for us so that we can participate and live in Gods house. Our natural view of John 14 1-3 is that Jesus is going to create a place in heaven with materials made with hands. But Gods abode is produced through the work of Christ going to the cross and bringing us into Himself in resurrection to produce this building. Christ has paved the way for us to become a dwelling place of God culminating in that eternal city coming down out of heaven at the end of revelation. This is God‘s eternal purpose and desire. So this is why we see the Christ in Revelations 1 walking among the churches In Revelations 2-3 urging them to overcome in this age that we might be transformed into the eternal dwelling place of God. Jesus, referring to his resurrection said to the disciples. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again (Resurrection)and will receive you to Myself, so that where I am you also may be." (John 14:3). And where is Jesus? “In that day (Resurrection) you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you." (John 14:20) So Saints we’re not just waiting on Jesus to complete some future mansion in the sky, His preparation was on the cross and in resurrection. And we can know assuredly that Jesus is in the Father and that we are Abiding in Jesus and He is in us. We are therefore the dwelling place of the Father. It behooves us to overcome anything that is not fitting for God‘s building and know practically that We can daily participate in the building of God’s house.!
