"But the Jerusalem above is free, which is our mother;" (Galatians 4:26) What an interesting verse. What this verse tells us is that as believers we are all born unto God to become that new Jerusalem which we will see in Revelation chapter 21. In this sense she is the mother of us all who know the Lord. It is the eternal desire of God for his people to become his dwelling place. The church of Philadelphia obviously had this light and were men and women who like King David were after Gods heart to see His dwelling place on the earth. “The LORD has sought out a man after his own heart, and the LORD has commanded him to be prince over his people," (1 Samuel 13:14,) And when he had removed him, (Saul) he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, 'I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.' (Acts 13:22,)
