Description

Forgiving yourself is about more than just putting the past behind you and moving on. It is about accepting what has happened and showing compassion to yourself. Self-forgiveness is not about letting yourself off the hook, nor is it a sign of weakness. Whether you are forgiving yourself or someone who has wronged you, the act of forgiveness does not suggest that you are condoning the behavior.

If we try to forgive ourselves for something without releasing the underlying emotion or belief we’ve attached to it, forgiveness doesn’t take. No matter how hard you try to ignore it, you continue to beat yourself up for whatever happened—because your nervous system tells you to.

No one seems willing to take personal responsibility for whatever they feel is wrong with them, with everything. One sees people blaming problems outside of themselves in all directions, justifying their behavior.
