Description

On this episode of MalFunktion, I have a wonderful conversation with musician, teacher, and Front Man of Antique Gardens, Josh Willis. We met through the music scene here in Texas, and I’ve always been really drawn to the music he and his band create. Despite knowing each other for a few years now, this is the first time we’ve been able to have a real one-on-one convo together. I knew I connected with his art for a reason, because after talking with him, I feel like we’ve been friends for forever.

Josh and I dive deep into his musical journey - how he got into music, how that evolved and transformed as he grew up, the roadblocks he has overcome, and the many life lessons he has learned through music that have helped him become a better person, teacher, bandmate, and friend.

We also talk about how his move to Atlanta, Georgia in 2020 completely transformed his life for the better through a new job teaching kids music, focusing on mental-health and self-care, and adjusting his relationship with alcohol.

I can’t thank Josh enough for opening up and sharing so much with me. He gives some very valuable insight and wisdom that I personally learned a lot from. I know you will enjoy this as much as I did. Come along and join the ride!
