About Chris Griffith
Chris Griffith is a Senior Technology Journalist with The Australian newspaper.
Before working at Australian IT, he was media development editor at The Australian and in 2009 helped build The Australian's website.
Before that he was deputy news editor online at The Australian, responsible for production of online political news during the 2007 federal election, and previously online reporter at The Courier-Mail newspaper in Brisbane, 1999-2007.
Chris has worked in TV and radio however most of his career has been in newspapers, as a columnist with The Sun-Herald in Brisbane in the early 1990s, and then as a reporter with five year stints at both The Sunday Mail and The Courier-Mail before helping pioneer the paper's coverage on the internet.
He was researcher at The 7.30 Report, Brisbane in 1993; researcher at 4BH 882 in 1994, and in 1995 founding editor of the indigenous newspaper Land Rights Queensland.
Chris also has a computer programming background which includes mainframe coding and teaching computer programming in the 1970s and running a small business developing commercial PC packages in Queensland in the 1980s.
