Current Xavier University head baseball coach, Billy O'Conner, joins The Sidelines to share his perspective from on and off the baseball diamond. Born and raised a Cincinnati kid, Billy played baseball at the proud establishment of Elder High School before moving on to play college ball - which he split between Indiana University and Xavier. After his college career, he spent about 8 seasons as an assistant coach at Northern Kentucky University and his alma mater, Xavier, respectively, prior to becoming Xavier's head coach in 2017. In addition to coaching, Billy has done tremendous work in partnering with the Vs Cancer Foundation. Also, being one of the younger NCAA head coaches in the game, Billy brings a fresh perspective to his players that includes honesty, passion, and tons of energy.
