Description

Observations
-Entire generation, excepting Caleb and Joshua, all twenty and above will die wandering in the wilderness
-The little ones wont be victims but victors. But they will bear the brunt of their parent’s sin as they grow up, they will suffer hardship because of their parents’ infidelity.
-40 years of wandering for the 40 days of spying
-The 10 stir-the-pot spies die by plague
-The people mourn greatly and pull themselves up by their bootstraps, set their mind on working themselves back into the Lord’s graces. Delayed obedience is disobedience; leads to consequences resulting in sorrow which in turn is tempted by presumption.
-They are defeated, fighting outside the Lord’s will.

Application
- Childlike faith pleases the Lord and benefits us.
- Danger of presumption.
- Doing for God or being filled with the Spirit, walking in God’s will?

Prayer: pray the passage and how the Holy Spirit has convicted you back to the Lord. Ask Him to do in You what His Word teaches.

In the word, of they hymn:
“Oh to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart Lord, take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above”
