The Ahmaud Arbery trial was a WIN!
The senseless and racist murder of Ahmaud Arbery was going to go unchallenged if left up to the original legal authorities in small town Georgia. The protests of 2020 really brought the tragedy to the forefront along with the criminals being dumb enough to video tape based off their White Pride & Privilege endowed to them by their lifetime of skin color bias!
Only in America can a Black man not just run down the street. Period! That was his only crime, the worst though though was the fact the killers thought his existence on their street was a crime! The whole neighborhood crime excuse in my opinion was an EXCUSE from the beginning. The basis of the "citizens arrest" law is Racist in it's origins! As soon as you hear that the first question you have to ask is "who were considered 'citizens' to begin with?" When the law was first created. Think about that, this is Georgia! Blacks were considered PROPERTY not citizens. That law was 1 of the laws created to make sure that ANY White man could detain and punish a Black person at any time in that area.
I do think the jury recognized the situation as it was a MURDER! A hunt down and murder situation! I also think they didn't want their town burned to the ground if they came back with any other verdict or hung!
They wanted the extra people GONE! Which was a completely different scene and environment from all the other incidents when Black Americans have been murdered by White's and the few times they faced trial and all went free! The last year has offered some insight into what could happen, and considering there aren't any Targets or other big box stores around the area, I think that helped them choose the right choice.
This time they knew there was a good chance that when they got home, it may have been in flames. I am sure the home owner who had Ahmaud on tape definitely didn't want a not guilty result!
However or whatever led the jury to make the RIGHT CHOICE!
