Jesus teaches that rather than being outraged when we are mistreated—like Jesus—we are to respond with grace and compassion. This doesn’t mean to allow abuse or neglect, but shows that in everyday relationships our compassion toward others—especially those who are unkind to us—shows a compassion unlike what people normally see.
