I know people say that all are God’s children, but that’s simply not true. Yes, God created everyone but not all of His creation has accepted the free gift, Jesus Christ, in order to obtain salvation and then become one of God’s children. The Bible tells us that you have to go through Jesus Christ in order to get to God and become a part of God’s family. In John 14:6 it reads “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Explicitly, the Bible makes a clear distinction between those who are children of God and those who are not. Only those born by God’s Spirit through faith in Jesus are children of God (1 John 3:1-10, Galatians 3:26, John 8:34-41).
God’s promises are for His children, only.
