The entire Old Testament scriptures, from the Book of Exodus, is about one nation: Israel. The journey this nation went through was foreshadowing the story of all humanity in Christ. Their external redemption unveils our internal redemption. Paul calls this a "race", and encourages us to "run the race". Every little story of Israel's journey is relevant and very important. Therefore, it’s important to know what every step of the way was about so we can experientially partake of what our Father desires for us in Christ.
