Description

⚠️ To worship or venerate Satan, the Devil, or other demon spirits is central to the beliefs and practises of Satanism. In practise, Satanism can mean different things to different people.

There are those who believe Satan is a real being, while others regard him more as a symbol of freedom of expression and personal agency.

⚠️ Satanism's roots are deep and varied.

Satanism as we know it now emerged in Europe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The French magician Stanislas de Guaita, who in 1888 established the
Kabbalistic Order of the Rose-Croix, is credited with establishing one of the earliest contemporary versions of Satanism.

Anton LaVey, who established the Church of Satan in 1966, and Aleister Crowley, who established the religion of Thelema, were also early proponents of Satanism.

⚠️ Theistic Satanism, atheistic Satanism, and Satanic ritual abuse are all distinct forms of Satanism.Atheistic Satanism sees Satan as a metaphor or archetype, while theistic Satanism worships him as a real, literal creature.

⚠️ The term "Satanic ritual abuse" (SRA) is used to describe the conspiracy theory that many people are victims of ritual abuse, murder, and other horrors at the hands of Satanic cults. However, scientific proof for SRA is nonexistent.

While some Satanists may partake in criminal behaviour, the vast majority do not.The Satanic Temple, for example, advocates for freedom of choice, compassion, and fairness, and is only one example of several Satanic organisations that support ethical and moral principles.

Despite this, Satanism has a bad rep for being linked to things like murder and human and animal sacrifice.

Most Satanic organisations consider these activities to be immoral and illegal.

No respectable Satanic group would support members who break the law or intentionally hurt themselves or others.

In conclusion, Satanism is a wide-ranging religion that can include, but is not limited to, the adoration of Satan and other demonic figures.

Even if some Satanic organisations may be involved in criminal behaviour, the vast majority are not. There are many misconceptions and falsehoods about Satanism that need to be dispelled.

Satanists and those who admire Satan come from all walks of life and hold a vast variety of beliefs.

While some Satanists believe Satan to be a real person, others consider him more as a metaphor for freedom of expression and personal agency.

While some Satanists may be interested in rituals, others may be more interested in philosophy and the mind.

While some Satanists may have questionable morals, the vast majority do
not.

The vast majority of Satanists do not endorse violence or illegal activity and instead advocate for the rights of individuals to live free from oppression and to care for and help others.

⚠️ The Roman Catholic Church condemns Satanism as a heretical movement in stark contrast to the teachings of Christ.

Satan is a fallen angel who sinned against God and now tempts people to do the same. The Church condemns Satanism as a sin because it entails the worship of Satan or other demons.

The Church shares the general consensus that Satanism is bad for people and society. It teaches its adherents to reject Satanism in favour of the principles
of Christianity and condemns any form of worship or reverence of Satan or other evil spirits.

In conclusion, Satanists and those who hold admiration for him come from a wide range of cultural and religious contexts.
