We can easily become near-sighted—cautious, hesitant, and consumed with what is right in front of us. When everything is in a blur, it is difficult for us to see the future with hope and expectation. Maybe you’ve been there… Maybe you’re there right now. If so, you aren’t alone.
The Easter story reminds us that Jesus meets us right in the midst of our grief, fear, and anguish, and invites us to see the future from His perspective. Jesus doesn’t expect us to fix or control our circumstances. Instead, we are invited to call to Jesus for help and recognize Him as our Teacher. Just like Jesus met and empowered Mary Magdalene, Jesus empowers us to upgrade our vision and share the Good News with the world. Jesus believes in us and invites us to be far-sighted followers of Jesus.
