We welcome Emily Emmons as our guest on today's podcast: Hawaii - Life-Changing For This Caregiver & Her Veteran. Emily, like so many of us, has a number of different roles in life. Emily is first and foremost Emily. She follows her heart. She is a mom, a caregiver to her husband, John, a post 9/11 veteran, she is a lover of animals, farming, living off of the land, a strong advocate for veterans and caregivers, and Executive Director at Ho'ola Farms located in Hawaii.
The mission of Ho'ola Farms is fantastic: GROW and to serve military veterans, caregivers, first-responders and their families by providing opportunities to heal, connect, learn, grow, and thrive.
Emily shared how the Farmer Veteran Coalition has been extremely supportive of veterans in agriculture.
Emily and Mar met a few years ago in Washington, D.C. as Elizabeth Dole Foundation Fellows. They were sitting next to one another during an event that bonded them for life. The keynote speaker, Dr. Amit Sood, who runs the "Happiness Clinic" at the Mayo Clinic spoke about gratitude and that resonated deeply with them. These are the short clips and TedTalk links she shared with me to share with all of you:

Emily, and her husband, John, are an amazing couple who went all in for a better life several years ago with the goal of sharing their bounty with others.
