Whuddup witches!
Happy Friday!
Join us this week as we take it back to 1801 to tell the story of the baddest Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, Marie Laveau. By the end of her life she became most well known as a Louisiana Creole practitioner of Voodoo later becoming the most well known Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. Maire was also a highly skilled and sought after herbalist, midwife and healer, a pillar of justice in her community and so much more. Come listen to hear all about the incredible life of this Queen.
A reminder that this episode does talk about the religion and practice of Voodoo, which is a closed practice. Closed practices are those that you can only be a part of if you were born into the community, or if you have been initiated into it by a high ranking member of the community. Remember to be respectful of others people cultures and to not take or appropriate these cultures as your own. Learning is okay, stealing is not!
