On a hot summer's day in 1817, John Bell was out inspecting one of his corn fields when he encountered a “strange-looking” animal sitting in the field. The animal was said to have the body of a dog and the head of a rabbit. Shocked by what he saw, John Bell raised his rifle and shot at the animal several times, missing each shot he took. The animal scurried off and vanished without a trace. This would come to be noted as the first manifestation of the violent entity that would come to haunt the Bell family for generations.
We have some amazing episodes coming to you all over the next 2 weeks and with that in mind and seeing as spooky season is finally upon us, we thought it was only fitting this week to tell you all the torturous tale of the Bell Witch Hauntings.
