Congress party announced its Chief Ministerial candidate in Punjab, changing its earlier strategy of putting up a combined fight without a CM face during the election process and campaigning. Charanji Singh Channi who replaced Captain Amarinder Singh last September would be the Chief Minister if the party won the upcoming elections, Rahul Gandhi announced a couple of days ago. In the battle between Navjot Singh Siddhu and Channi, the popular verdict seemed to favour Channi.
