Hey Language Learners! Welcome back to another exciting episode. In this episode I spoke with Erin Ross about the Death of Language, one of the topics I am beginning to tackle within this podcast. This episode is a sort of introduction to what I want to talk about with respects to the Death of Language. This episode is a very emotional, transparent and all laughs! We had such an amazing conversation about her family and their background languages and the issues of why she wasn't taught those languages and its all so relatable. She discusses her reason for wanting to learn Spanish from the Dominican Republic and many insecurities and how she is breaking through it all!
Erin Ross is 4 1/2 octave vocalist, lyricist and songwriter from Houston, TX. A first generation American, Erin was raised with a Dominican father and a Filipino mother, but never grew up speaking their home languages. After a life-changing trip to the Dominican Republic to visit her grandmother, she felt a deep passion to learn the culture and language of her family. You can follow her Spanish journey on TikTok where she’s amassed nearly 50k followers in a matter of months for her refreshingly uplifting videos and behind-the-scenes look at her life as a musical artist.
Her debut EP releases on all streaming platforms March 2022 called Still Becoming.
