Hey Language Learners, I'm super excited to be having this great conversation with Shahidah about the German language, Spanish and French, plus many more languages. She discusses her evolution and love for learning languages! You will hear her speak about living in Germany and how she had no intentions on learning the German language, not until a challenge came along. She learned the German language on her own without a classroom or teacher. She talks about many things to include her insecurities about language learning and she states some nice anecdotes throughout the conversation. Shahidah Foster is the creator of Black Girls Learn Languages, a multi-platform digital community for Black women who are passionate about languages which currently serves around 10,000 members across multiple social media platforms. She is also co-organizer of the Sisters Only Language Summit, the first and only language summit for Black women in the language community. Her media appearances includes being featured in Travel Noire, Bronze Magazine, Bauce Magazine and mentioned in Black Enterprise. In addition to managing the platform, she has also served as a two-time speaker at the annual Women in Language conference and has appeared on a number of language podcasts including The Fluent Show and Fluent in 3 Months.
