Khabane Lame, a slender Senegalese man with long limbs and an expressive face living with his parents in Chivasso, Italy, has stolen the hearts of the world. “Khaby” Lame lost his job at a factory in the lockdown and began posting videos of himself on TikTok. At first, they were clips of himself dancing or doing comedy stunts. Then earlier this year he began making fun of the life-hack videos that flood social media platforms - by countering with a word-less demonstration of a simple alternative and reacting with a shrug or look of exasperation. The message and the expression stuck. Lame (Lah- MAY) is now the 2nd most popular person on TikTok and gaining nearly some 200,000 followers a day. Apparently, we really do prefer to keep it simple.
