I wrote in DEFIANT FOR AMERICA "Those who ignore the past will be forced to relive it."(Mike Ducheine). George Santayana puts it differently; he said "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
Irrespective of how it is said and by whom, history teaches to pay attention in order to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past.
On January 30, 1933 Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany (the second in command, immediately after the President). Within 18 months, Hitler dismantled every aspect of Democracy in Germany.
Fast forward to 2016, Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. Since his first day in office, Mr. Trump has worked to curtail freedom of expression by tagging the media of fake news, a similar approach by Adolf Hitler who accused the media of fabrication.
Mr. Trump has trampled the rule of law, ignored the Constitution and managed to rally support in both Houses fully controlled by the Republicans.
Hitler used a similar approach to suppress every aspect of freedom and managed to have both Houses (the Reichstag & the Reichsrat) passed legislations which gave him plenary power for a period of four years.
As such, it is fair to compare the two men as both seem to have the same objective and the outcome of their approach seem identical.
I invite you to visit https://peoplebranch.org to read further about the similarities between Donald Trump, president of the United States and Adolf Hitler, Chancellor of Germany. Both men had legitimately acquired their respective political power, Russia's interference in the 2016 election notwithstanding.
