The word IMPEACHMENT is the most dreaded in the English language for public officials here in the United States. It's not just because of a possible negative outcome for the individual under impeachment; it's what it entails in a negative outcome. The accused will never be allowed to hold public office again. As if that's not enough punishment, the impeached individual can be prosecuted afterwards once removed from office.
There is really no incentive for public officials to engage in wrongdoing or criminal activities.
Yet, the 45th president of the United States has acted almost exclusively as if he's begged to be impeached. We should not however be under the impression it's a waste of time to impeach a president engaged in wrongdoing; Donald Trump's attitude has everything to do with the Republican Senators NOT performing their constitutional duty as required in the Constitution, something which has emboldened Trump to continue acting in the Oval Office like a mob boss, a thug.
Unless the Republican Legislators change their behavior to abide by the Constitution, Donald Trump will continue to believe Being Impeached is a joke.
