Chances are you don't know anyone who would want to be conned, not even for fun.

But seriously! Beside being humiliated to have been conned, one would feel ashamed to have been taken for a ride. Most people would react angrily, a few would even kill the perpetrator(s) if found.
We've seen professional con men such as the famous Adrian Lester aka Mickey Brick in Hustle along with his team. We've all enjoyed watching a good con being performed but that's where our love for con ends.
Ironically, most Republican constituents do not just get conned by the Republican Leaders, they offer themselves to get conned over and over and over.
