The more things look bad, the more things look bad in the domestic front for the United States. It is sad however that GOP Leaders seem fine with that, Republican constituents don't mind that either.
While Washington continue to make (or claim to make) progress with the Iran restart nuclear talk, anyone who is concerned enough or aware of what is currently going on on the domestic front would pull his/hair out in sign of desperation.
For many in the Republican Party, especially the leaders, it's just business as usual.
