In March of 2024 at the end of season 2, we had the honor of speaking with Dr. Amber Busay, but due to technical difficulties didn't get to release her episode. We are very excited to finally get to share this wonderful and candid conversation we had with her. She is absolutely and incredible person who finds such passion and joy working our special needs community. As you will hear in her episode, she has a special way of bringing people together and finding the supports each of our children need to be successful and overcoming barriers.
She has worked in the field of special education for over 15 years. She began her journey as a paraprofessional in a non-public school setting. After realizing her dream was to continue to work with children with special needs, she went back and obtained her Master's of Art in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism.
She then pursued additional schooling and received her BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), where she continued to work in the non-public setting as a behavior analyst, mainly working with students with severe inappropriate behaviors under varying eligibility categories.
Dr. Amber Busay then moved to the school district setting as a behavior intervention specialist in Travis Unified School District, where she completed her doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Special Education.
