Greetings Acolytes! I'm Kennedy Phillips, Creator of Magus Elgar. You may also recognize my voice as Magus Serling Tenthorn, Mentor to those who wish to learn all about the magic of Hearth. The various casters in the world of hearth master their arts by speaking obscenities in the ancient tongue of trite; literally insulting the entities that rule over reality called the elements. Since these elements are so insecure, their attempts at smiting us help us cast everything from lightning from our fingertips to lengthening that fourth leg on your table that always seems to come up short and make the whole thing wobble. There are sorcerers whose primal talent teeter on the precipice of madness, wizards whose scholarly pursuits focus on more grounded, but tried and true formulas, and the Magi, who bridge a balance between deep study and raw magical potential.
At the forefront of magical pioneering is Magus Thaddelor Elgar. Who is so far ahead of the curve, most of his acolytes often veer off the path to enlightenment and into the ravine of comical death. In our show, Magus Elgar and his apprentice, Udo Malaaki accidentally discover an entirely new form of magic: something called Science in the dimension of Earth or whatever. Now scientific tools have bled into the world of Hearth and have taken on magical properties, and run the risk of ripping apart the fabric of reality! It's up to the Magical Interdimensional Anomaly Locators to find these Scientific Tools Augmented with Magical Power. After all, who else would find a better place for Stamps than Mail? Join Magus Elgar and his colleagues: the timid but responsible Udo Malaaki, Scientist apprentice and aspiring villainess Kaylee Fawn, The Caffeine addicted Quantum Scientist Dr. Graw Horatio, and their Gleefully suicidal abomination, Kakkay.
Today I'm here to share with you one of my favorite episodes: Episode 8: Ether? I hardly knew her! In this episode, Magus Elgar and his colleagues seek a mysterious figure who is using a STAMP to drain the magical energy from competitors at the Sazaastrum magical tournament. Where Udo is tasked to luring out the culprit by competing as a surprise contestant. This was one of my favorite scenes to play out because Audio dramas are very difficult to play a magical duel and still understand what is happening. Each spell was built from scratch using foley and a little bit of sound design magic. I highly recommend headphones! If you wish to learn more about our show, magic, and the world of hearth, visit maguselgar.com where you can sample comics, artwork, and even nifty facts about Magic narrated by Magus Serling Tenthorn. We also have an animated short on youtube of Elgar and Udo being afraid of a bridge for some reason. I would to, infrastructure is an unholy ritual that defies nature, don't you know! Anyway. I hope you enjoy Magus Elgar and consider listening to us more! Enjoy the show acolytes!
